Thanks All for your information.

I take Joe's point (which i think was Eldert's original point) that an oil hole at 12 o'clock might not be best placed for structural strength. In any case, it's in there now and after running it in, whilst I won't be racing it, I won't be nursing it either ;) .

What will be, will be.

Just down to sorting out the seat pan now. Started cleaning it back to bare metal and fabricated the replacement seat mount today. My friend Marco had access to a metal bender...very helpfull. Don't know who did the last welding on this seat pan, but it ain't what I'd call elegant. Crude, but effective, might be a fair description.

A bit of futher cleaning up and MIG welding tomorrow and with some luck I'll get some primer on tomorrow. Time is getting is critical as I'm trying to get it together for next weekend's Albany Hill Climb. Not to compete on it as it won't be run in, but I'd like to take it down for the display and to clock up a few run-in miles on it down there. Fingers crossed!

I'm going to come back and tidy this up properly come winter. Right now, I just need a seat to ride it.

All,

I've renamed the first post on this to better reflect the content in the upper level "Ducati Singles Talk". Hope you don't mind and you didn't waste your time reading stuff you'd already seen before, but it kind of evolved and the original post title bore little resemblenace to the subject as it came to be.

Made it!!! Ready for Albany with two nights to spare to have some local runs to mess around with tuning. Hooray!!! Been a few long nights in the last week.

Might even get into work a bit late tomorrow as sun up is 5:30 am now. Can squeeze in a ride!
