Well...
I bit the bullet and ordered the MZB ignition today. I was very tempted by the Sasche system, but in the end decided that when I build my 250 (don't hold your breath, I've only got a tank and an engine at this point...) I'd put the Sasche on that.
I'm a bit impatient so I ordered it directly though MZB rather than going through Rick. Could have saved a little money but would have had to wait for it to be shipped to him and then re-shipped to me. Plus he may not have ordered it right away as he likes to order multiple parts at once to save on shipping. Makes sense but I want to get the mock up done on the 350 so I can tear it down and paint it this spring... Fine, considering the glacial pace I move at it probably wouldn't have mattered if I had waited. But I already told you I'm impatient so there ya go! FWIW - I'm waiting on parts for my 160 and it's driving me crazy...
More news as it develops.

Re: MZB / Powerdynamo Ignition
Let us know how the install goes. I should be right behind you.
Made a little progress on the SCR over the 3 day weekend, so I should be ordering one myself shortly.

Re: MZB / Powerdynamo Ignition
The actual install probably won't take place for quite some time, the main reason to get it now is to claim the real estate for the boxes involved - regulator, etc. If I have to modify anything to make it all fit I want to know as soon as possible. I would like to get the frame painted by early summer, which means I need to have the mock up pretty much done by then. Doesn't sound hard but with the way things seem to "come up" and take time away from projects I tend to take a LONG time to get things done.
Plus, I'm working on the 160 at the same time so that takes time away from the 350 too. My plan is to do the final painting on the160 and the intial stuff on the 350 at the same time. We'll see how that works out.

Re: MZB / Powerdynamo Ignition
The ignition showed up today. I'm a little worried the coil isn't going to fit where I intended it to because of it's strange shape, but if it doesn't I'm guessing a fix won't be too hard to come up with... probably just changing the bracket to mount it on it's side would be enough? Hopefully when I'm done wasting time on the 'net I can sneak downstairs and do a trial fitting of the regulator, ignition module, and coil.

____ How about some pix (when possible) ?
It'd be nice to see pictures that show all the parts (better than the website does)!
Excited-Cheers,

Re: MZB / Powerdynamo Ignition
I'll try to get some pictures soon. I would have taken a few last night but my camera batteries were dead and I was too impatient to wait for them to charge up.
The parts are all a little bigger than I was expecting and will be harder to hide than I thought. It would probably work under the stock bodywork/seat no problem but with the parts I'm using, space is at a premium. The coil will fit, but it sticks out underneath the tank by about half an inch. I'll look into trying to raise it up by modding the bracket or something, but in reality I doubt anyone will notice anyway... you have to be kneeling next to the bike to see it really. So of course every time I look at the bike I kneel down so I can see it.
The regulator and ignition module are a little harder. I could mount the regulator under the tail, but I'd have to extend the wires. I could also mount it underneath the stock location but it would be visible. Not the end of the world but again I'd like to hide it. It would probably fit in the stock location if I didn't have the seat mounted the way I do. The ignition MIGHT be able to fit under the seat, it depends on if I can mod the rear tank mount and front mount for the seat. The way the tank is shaped (to clear the carb) it would fit under the tank/above the frame, but that would be very visible, at least from the left side. On the right the carb/air filter would probably hide it.
Another option I'm considering... I think they'd fit in the small Mach 1 style toolboxes. I could buy some repros and mod them to put the ignition on one side and the regulator the other. Maybe cut some of the back out of one of them so the regulators fins could stick out? I'm not 100% positive they'd fit throught the "door" though so I'd have to check that before ordering them... and of course that would mean I'd be using toolboxes, which is something I had ruled out earlier...

The UPS truck dropped off my system yesterday. I will try to take some pics while I do the install.

I'll be interested to see what you come up with. Sorry I haven't updated this at all... I got pretty frustrated dealing with a few suppliers and finally said screw it. I spent the last of my toy fund on a guitar and amp a couple weeks ago, haven't touched a bike since...

Re: MZB / Powerdynamo Ignition
Made a bit of progress. Got the old flywheel out and the stator plate mounted.
