" my 250 was missing the regulator (and maybe more?) when I bought it, and the 350 engine I'm putting in it is missing the ignition components, so it seems like a good fit. Plus, I had planed on converting to 12 volts anyway. "

____ What year-model was your 250, and what model is the 350-engine?

Here's a thought -how many people are seriously considering this system? Perhaps there's a discount for a "group buy" as it were???? I can ask.

I have emailed Rick a few times about the system asking questions. I am getting close to "pulling the trigger" on this so if he can get us a deal on a group buy it would prob push me that extra bit.

Let me know what happens.

Turns out there 's not much room on a group buy, other than maybe lower shipping costs from Europe. The cost he quoted me was just about spot on with what the website is quoting when it's all said and done. If I ordered it direct from the manufacturer (they may not allow that?) it wouldn't have to be shipped twice.

I'm pretty sure I'll be buying one, but not sure when. And I may try to order it direct...

The delay now is, I saw another ignition that had multiple timing curves to choose from. I can't remember the price or if it charged the battery too though, and I can't find the dang website now! I'll poke around a little more, no big hurry on this as I want to finish up my 160 first anyway.

Let me know what you decide.

BTW - I am pretty sure that the Powerdynamo has multiple timing curves. Per the install instructions, you have to set the advance unit so I would guess its adjustable. May wanna ping Rick about the details.

" and I can't find the dang website now! "

____ Your PC type computer still could for you ! ...
What browser did you use when you found that w.site? ... I know that the 'Internet Explorer' browser saves web-sites visited, within your PC's Temporary Internet Files, so if you haven't cleaned-out those files since, then you should still be able to find the related temp-link, to go back to that w.site again.
Need more directions on this ?

Hopeful-Cheers,

Unfortunately I use four different computers at two locations (with three different browsers on different operating systems...) and it was at least a week ago that I found the site. That's too many history folders to search. It'll be easier to find the original link again since I'm sure I saw it on one of three forums... not tonight though.

9 curves you can choose from

Yes Eldert, that was it. Strangely enough, I was just on their site before coming here to post the link, the name simply popped into my head this morning!

But what do you think about this ignition? The downside is it doesn't have a charging system, the upside is the cost... The multiple ignition curves could be nice in theory but in reality it'd be a set it and forget it type of deal for me? And choosing the "correct" one the first time could be a simple guess unless I hire some dyno time?

I notice he does have regulators listed on his site too but I'm not sure what I'd need and this would use the old alternator set up.

My initial thought is I like it better than the ignition on the MZB unit, but as an entire package I like the MZB more.

Hi Craig
the only thing i dont like about this ignition is that you the drivershaft and rotor are 2 pieces and that you
have to fasten the rotor with little set or grub screws .
i know people who are gonne use this ignition ( both types ) and let you guys know they like it
