Hello Eldert, I had bevel twin springs copied but 1/2 the weight, these are either 2 or 4 kg? It was many years ago but they are definately 1/2 bevel twin strength. PM me a postal address and I'll mail you some. Graeme

Have you asked Gowie if he has any R/T TS bits? They are just the sort of thing he may have tucked away somewhere!

Hello Phil,
email sent to Ian.
I am looking forward to another of Ian's replys full of Ian's gems.
Someone should collect Ian's stories and record them for future generations.

Graeme

Hello Phil, Ian couldn't help with the bits I need,
Hello Eldert, Amici Dello Scrambler do have what I need, thank you.

The engine mount bolts that were on the bike don't look right.
I have the pictures of the parts manual but not the descriptions of the parts.
Can anyone tell me the size of the engine mount bolts?

The two front mount bolts 91.050 / 055

The upper rear bolt 063

The front foot peg and through engine bolt 020

The rear foot peg and lower engine mount bolt 69.010

Regards
Graeme

____ You might want to check-through the following threads before buying stock motor-mount bolts somewhere.

Thanks Bob,
My '74 450 has upper and lower rear engine mount bolts that are 10mm. (the front 4 bolts are 8mm)
The R/T came with the lower rear 10mm, the upper 8mm and the forward foot peg 8mm. These look like standard bolts, but the two front 8mm bolts look like they came from a cheap hardware store. (the front holes in the cases are egg shape, witnessing loose bolts)
10mm will fit the frame and the rear upper and lower cases, but the forward foot peg hole will need to be drilled to fit 10mm.
I'll take the advice offered and use 10mm bolts.
Thanks
Graeme

I have two '71 R/T chassis and one motor, the configuration is the same on both frames and the motor but I don't know if they could have been previously modified. The upper and lower rear motor mount bolts are 10mm, the front peg bolt is 8mm as well as the two front mounts. Doesn't seem like the foot peg bolt would need to be 10mm...

R/T / WideCase Footpeg-bracket Mounting

Postby DewCatTea-Bob » Mon Apr 02, 2012 5:30 pm

" Doesn't seem like the foot peg bolt would need to be 10mm... "

____ For street-riding that stock bolt is sufficient but, over 200-pound riders coming-down from jumps (while standing on pegs), causes the support-bosses (of the motor-case) to crack and eventually bust-off !
So for spirited off-road riding, wide-case models such as the R/T, ought to have the overstressed boss issue addressed so as to increase the strength of the foot-peg mounting areas.
