Bronco Questions - New Owner

Postby vincep » Tue Nov 22, 2011 11:35 pm

Hi all,
Well I purchased a 1964 Bronco 125 in pieces and am looking to get it running again. I have two bevel twins and a modern Ducati, but have never touched a single. The obvious parts I am missing are a front fender and muffler - where to start looking for those?
A couple of other questions:
-Is a service manual available for these
-I can not see a frame number on the bike - owners manual says left hand side on a frame tube - nothing there
Looks like a great forum, I hope to be providing more progress soon

Vince, Welcome...

I dont know much about broncos, but if you want to start searching for parts a good place to begin would be domiracer, they are here in my hometown. there website isnt the greatest, it would be best to give tony a call directly, some things they have are "off the books" I have found some very rare parts going down there on saturdays and scrounging around. Their phone number is (513)871-1678 dont call the 877 # on there site...its toll free, but wont get you tony directly... hes been doing this a long time, his dad owned sport motors (cincinnatis old ducati/triumph/bsa/norton dealer) and also domiracer/and accessory mart. My dad bought parts off his dad, now i buy parts off him, etc... If he doesnt have it, he can make some calls and possibly find it, and he WILL call you back (rare these days) I have also seen a lot of bronco stuff pop-up on ebay, although im not in the market, but i still search ebay daily for ducati stuff...

One other thing...post a "parts wanted" add on the classified section on here, someone may have a ton of bronco stuff they want to sell, you never know.

Joe

Hi Vince,

The Bronco is not as coveted as other models and as such I don't know of anyone that attempts to supply parts for them.

There is a Bronco on Craigslist in West Bend Indiana:

http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/mcy/2719552082.html

It has been on many times before and not sold at that price. Seemingly if it within driving range of you, you could probably get it for less than the $850 asking prices and have one spare everything.

Hi Vince,
Welcome to the forum. I have a PDF of the Bronco Manuls that I'll get to Jim to post on the site. I have had 3 Bronco's and have not seen any frame numbers - just engine numbers and the foil lable ont he headstock.

Here are some pics I took yesterday of my Bronco. I found a Bronco 98 (I think) gas tank, which I thinki s really cool looking and put in on my 125 Bronco. The original seat did not fit, but I found a Benelli seat and fabricated some mounts that worked with the frame. Added a set of clubmans and here it is. Not sure if I should paint this thing of not - I kind of like the Patina...

Jim and Tony, thanks for the replies.
Tony, where did you find those bars and the alloy rims - exactly what I am looking for.

Wheels came from a parts dealer in Italy, last NOS 17 WM1 rims. I have been looking for more for a future Monza Jr project, but no luck, yet. Clubmans came off of eBay. I do see them from time to time.

Welcome to the almost exclusive, nearly coveted, but truly happy Ducati pushrod owners club. You Cucciolo guys back off and start your own club for pullrods! Here are a couple shots of my Bronco. I have owned and ridden it since 1992. Every time I start it I grin ear to ear. I hope you have as much fun as I do with mine.
