Hi Roland,
I am not familiar with the Sachse ignition, but I do not think that the play will affect it. If it bothers you why not simply shim out the end-float? Do you have both 1mm thick shims on the shaft?
Cheers,
Colin

Hi Colin,
it is 2x Nr. 5, i understand.
Never took the cover off, there was no reason.
So the internals behind the cover are all the same for all types of ignition?
Will ask Sachse directly.
If i can avoid lifting the cover, fine!

Re: 2mm axial play on shaft of Ducati ignition...
Hi Roland,
Certainly all the Ducati singles engines that I have owned have had that axial play on the shaft, and it does not seem to affect the operation of the ignition system. I have Electrex World systems on my 250 and 350 and they operate ok.
Cheers,
Colin

Thanks Colin,
i am convinced now, it will be ok.
My conceptual error was to believe the Sachse-rotor covers the pcb.
That would be critical, but the diameters of rotor and pcb are on the same height, and that makes it tolerant.
Thanks!

Hi Roland
I now have three Scramblers and two Desmo single-cylinder engines with Sachse ignition and have been very satisfied for six years. If you ever have any questions, just give them a call. The support is easy to reach, friendly, competent, and helpful.
Best regards
Klaus

Hallo Klaus,
yes, Sachse already confirmed the axial play to be not relevant for the function of ignition.
Right now, i am thinking of managing this work, will need some special tools.
Klaus, habe dir eine Nachricht geschickt.
Gruß, Roland
