Aye Peter,

Just had a looksee at the DVLA website and it appears as though RDV 89N is sitting on SORN somewhere in UK, with the last V5C issued on 19th September 1994. So the old bird has been gathering dust for the past 30 years and is still listed as having "Yellow, Vehicle colour"!

As for "Where? it might be, I'll leave that to you, but you could try the DOC GB to start with.

Student eh? 1976 was when I acquired my 1974 450 MKIII having sold my 1953 AJS 18S and spent weeks felling SS thinnings for pulpwood, so that I could purchase it for cash and the start of my O.N.D. middle year in the I.o.M. :D

Good health, Bill

Hello again Peter, hope all is well. Excited that you are getting to the paint stage! I remember in 77 the first Ducati I ever saw was a 250 Desmo in a stunning yellow/orange, it was a beautiful thing!
I’ve just got my tank and other bits back from paint so hopefully will be a complete bike soon!

...and very sensibly, you haven't painted the filler neck as it probably was originally. Enthanol fuels play havoc with painted filler necks these days (as I found out).

That was my first thought! So well masked and seals nicely in the cap! It was ever going to be anything original, so with later tank and SS imola seat it had to reflect some Ducati early racing heritage… hence the grey/silver.
She is running, so I just need to finish the wiring loom and seat brackets…… Then take her out and get her dirty!
