I have to replace the ‘tang’ on the veglia speedo drive on my 450. I have a new ‘tang’ but can anyone advise how the drive comes apart so I can replace it?

Re: Speedo drive repair
Hi Ian,
It is ages since I did this job, but I think that there is a wire circlip on the inside that has to be prised out.
Cheers,
Colin

Re: Speedo drive repair
Is it like this? I cleaned it all off, and then was able to carefully knock the staking on the bronze ring back until the tang disc could be wriggled off. Reverse the process for the replacement.
Good reminder that I probably ought to take it out of the forks and re-lube it.

Re: Speedo drive repair
Problem solved. For anyone else doing this the tab comes off easily for replacement by hooking out the retaining clip with a small screwdriver. See picture.
