What has happened to the Wide case parts manual ?
All I get is Adobe doesn't support this ,,,,,,
Trying to remember how the clutch basket and the drive gear on the crank shaft go together.
This thing has been apart too long,,,,,
I know there is a spacer behind the clutch basket.
Is there any spacer behind the drive gear ?

Re: Wide Case Parts Manual. ?
Aye Graeme,
I have just tried accessing every one of the "TECH" section links to a parts/workshop or service manual and all the links have either been hacked or messed about with, so that you are directed to various gambling websites, or "404 Error" screens!
This would appear to be one for Jim to sort out with the forums server providers, as I suspect the problem lies within their servers possibly being hacked!
I hope that I am wrong, BUT!
Hope all well, with you down in the Tazzie winter? Our summer has been very cool, overcast, although today is proving the exception. Pea harvesting, broccoli cutting under way in the fields next to us and raspberries/currants coming out of our ears!
Good health, Bill

Re: Wide Case Parts Manual. ?
Greetings Bill,
That sounds like our summer with all the fruit and vegetables.
Weather here is cold and wet, but we have plenty of firewood.
We had a very dry summer. Driest summer ever according to the old farmers.
I tried to open all the parts files and got the same “Adobe reader can’t open” or file doesn’t exist.
Thanks for your answer to my questions.
Regards
Graeme

Re: Wide Case Parts Manual. ?
I think this is actually Jim's main site being hacked. It's built with Microsoft Frontpage which is no longer supported and has a number of known security vulnerabilities. Someone has inserted what I suspect are '301 redirects' in the configuration files of the site, probably in the '.htaccess' file. Although the relevant page is configured with the right links, and the files will still exist, every time someone clicks on one of the links, that file tells the server to redirect the user elsewhere.

Re: Wide Case Parts Manual. ?
Aye Ian,
Thank you for posting. I have not received any reply from JimF to my PM that I sent him via Motoscrubs, so no idea of what is going on. As I am not versed in the dark arts of binary, or any other code, my assumption was based entirely on gut feeling.
Re-writing Jim's main site, with more secure code, sounds to be a long and labour intensive exercise.
I hope that he is able to muster the necessary resources.
Good health, Bill

It wouldn’t be too difficult George and I’d be happy to help. It might actually be easier to build an entirely new site which I could do but I’d need access to all the tech docs etc. that are linked to from Jim’s site. I suspect most are available from other sources in any case and I’m sure there are others that currently aren’t on Jim’s site now that could added as a useful resource.

Re: Wide Case Parts Manual. ?
Does anyone have a pdf file of the transmission for wide case showing the shim sizes for the two shafts ?
Like the one that has disappeared from the tech section.
I'm trying to build a 450 (last model) that has been apart for a long time. I didn't pull it apart,,,,,
1st and 2nd dogs clip each other when in neutral, 5th and 4th only half mesh when in fifth.
I've changed the selector drum and forks, but no change.
I have seen this info in the RT parts manual I think ???
The workshop manual doesn't give the shim thickness.
