Just wondering if bikes from 68ish only had lighted tachometers for some reason? Figure I best have this sorted before I line up the inspection I need before I can insure it. I suspect I will need to modify this one, if so where is the safest location to surgically drill the hole

Veglia 60mm Speedo Lighted?
Bought a NOS Veglia speedo that doesn’t appear to have any location for an internal bulb. Am I missing something here? My CEV tach that came with the bike does have a push fit 3W12volt bulb from the back but again the Veglia just two mounting threads and of course the cable drive.

Hi, can I ask if your speedo has a clear plastic aperture on the body below the bezel? It may be from an earlier model where the Speedo was lit with reflected light from the headlight and not separately lit?

At best all I have is a small cut out or gap below the bezel. In terms of the factory method of lighting it probably doesn’t light up either instrument very well? I’ve never seen one so don’t know if that’s the case. Anyone know if an led light is a substantial improvement?

...these small openings are pretty effectiv, here I've used a strong LED lamp. This would be too bright in night time...
