Installing kill button on electric auto ignition.
Perhaps this is a question for Nigel. Is it possible to interrupt the current from the pulser by installing a ground on one of the wires ( black, blue or white) from the pulser of the electronic ignition? If so, how would it be done?

Hi Frank,
is this the electric setup you are planning to install?
There is a kill switch you need to install which is part of the CDI kit.
I'm running this CDI/generator unit from Nigel on my 450. First I wired the the black/white cable only to the ignition key (my bike was equipped with a CDI in the first place). Now I put it also on the push button of the light switch and I'm happy with it.
Cheers

The singles with a Ducati or Motoplat CDI system off-the-shelf all were equipped with a double pole key switch (4 female connectors). The normally closed pole was used a a kill switch, while the normally open pole for the on-board voltage. You can use the NC pole as before.

Re: Installing kill button on electric auto ignition.
I should be more specific. I'm using the Electrex CDI unit as supplied by Lacey, not the generator. It is already installed and connected to a homemade harness. Instead of a key switch, I have a toggle switch under the seat that provides power from the battery to the unit. The CDI kit has three wires (blue, black and white) from the pulser ring to the CDI unit. I would like to install a handlebar "kill" switch. When the bike had the original points ignition I installed the "kill"switch by interrupting one of the wires from the points to a ground supplied by the "kill" switch. Can the same be done with the CDI unit? Thanks for your patience.
