1976 350 Road

The Road part number and the Scrambler part number are not the same: 0719.84.020 for the Road, 0608/9.84.023/025 for the Scrambler.

This means the pipes are not the same (and most likely explains why you're struggling) .

Btw, under the Ducati system, the first 4 digits indicate which model of bike any particular part was first used on. Even if the part was later used on other bikes, these 4 digits do not change.
So the fact that the exhaust pipe for your bike does NOT use the Scrambler code, tells me that the Scrambler pipe wasn't used on the Road ...

Thanks for the info Ventodue. I initially bought the 1st one from Recambio along with a silencer. It in theory was the correct one for a 250/350 road, but does not clear the foot pegs. I bought the scrambler one just for the extra length. Both run within a few m of the frame down tube.

Do you have a reliable place to buy another via the part number.

In theory the pipe that you bought from Recambio should have fitted, but either it is the wrong one, or it is poorly made, a constant problem with exhaust pipes (I wasted money on two 750 sets that did not fit). In my experience the best fitting pipes come from Old Racing Spare Parts in Italy, and Keihan Systems in the UK, although whether either of their Ducati pipes will marry up with the Mototrans silencer is open to question!

I bought the downpipe about 2 yrs ago when I bought the bike as the original was in a bad way. I hadn’t even considered going back to him. Maybe I will contact him and see what he has. It is stamped Conti.

I have had a reply from Burlen with regards Amal carb:

"I'm sorry for the delay in replying. Our phones are very busy and we are not getting much time to answer our e-mails
The information we have for the carburetter on a 1976 Ducati Road is that it was fitted with a 930/417 carburetter with a 220cc Main Jet, 30cc Pilot Jet, .105" Needle Jet and a No 3 Throttle Valve.
We can supply a replacement 30mm carburetter based around the above jetting. All our Concentric carburetters now have aluminium bodies and are what we call Premier carburetters. They are fitted with hard anodised throttle valves and have a new design of Pilot Jet which is screwed into the side of the carburetter. The carburetter costs £181.13 plus VAT and postage.
If you would like to order the carburetter send me your contact details and I'll arrange to have it built. We'll contact you for payment when it is ready."

This confirms previous answers and will order one.

Ordered carb this morning, had phone call this afternoon to say carb assembled and posted to me. Couldn't ask for a better service.

Thought I would give update on 350 Road. Not much progress as I have been enjoying Riding the Elite in the sun. I was even lead bike on a couple of VMCC runs. Italian bike ahead of the British bikes as it should be
Frame and mudguards painted. Forks overhauled.
Started on wheels. Rear wheel brake drum requires skimming and one wheel bearing has been spinning. Dropped off at local engineering shop. New brake shoe linings required.
Fuel tank has couple of pinholes, will reline before painting.
Next will be engine and electrics. Enough to keep me busy during winter months.
Not to sure on square headlight, will have to see how much I have to spend first as a new original chrome headlight is a bit to expensive for me.

Looking good! Regarding the carb, strangely, the carb setting for the 350 Forza is different to the Road 350 in the slide 2.5, and 25 pilot jet. I find this strange for the same engine, but Burlen do say that there are differences between the Spanish carb and the English one.

What rear shocks are they on your Road?
