Flexy narrowcase centre stand
The engine for my 1967 250 Mk3 has jus been fully rebuilt by CMR Racing, and I have a collection of bits from various suppliers ready to start rebuilding my bike. It's currently a rolling chassis, and before I start putting it back together, I wanted to see if there is anything than can be done to improve the centre stand. The bike seems to lean to one side on the stand, and it's so flexible and twisty that I'd worry about it falling over if not parked perfectly, or when starting the bike. Has anyone tried adding bracing to the stand, or making a tubular replacement?

Re: Flexy narrowcase centre stand
The stand can be straightened in a press and the point where it comes up against the frame built up with weld to make the bike sit higher. This also reduces the strain. The stand is no where strong enough for kickstarting, Learn to do without.

Now solved by fitting a replacement from Ducati Vintage. It came with an 18mm pin, so the frame had to be drilled to suit, and the lug for the spring had to be cut off and repositioned, but its's far more solid than the original was.
