I don't know that it applies to a Vento, but centre stands for widecase Scrambler models are longer than for "street" Mark3 etc.

The original Telesco Hydrobag shocks had a length of 310mm.
Measuring one of my Ventos, fitted with a 100/90 rear tyre, there is 30mm between the tyre and the ground.
The standard Vento centre stand is shorter than the Scrambler widecase stand.
It's the same length as my late blue & gold 450 Mark 3 stand at 290mm from centre of pivot to the bottom of the foot.

Ok thanks. There's over 50mm between the tyre and the ground when it's on the stand. Maybe a previous owner put the wrong stand on it, which would explain the difficulty in getting it up on the stand.

Mine: 320 shox, 3.50 (=100/90) tyre, 20mm clearance.

wow! No wonder it is a pig to get on the stand. Something wrong somewhere.

I had the stand modified. It's much easier to get the bike onto it now.

I put a new seal in the LHS fuel tap and it's not leaking anymore, and the hose now grips well. But fuel leaks from the carb. It's a new needle and seat, with float height set at 18mm. I put a new o-ring on the float bowl, and I make sure the nut holding it on is tight. What's the most likely cause of it leaking? It's got me beat.

What sort of carb ?

How much of a leak ?
If it's very small, dry it well and sprinkle with talcum powder. You should see the wet bit that's leaking. (reminds me of a joke about a fat girl)

Thanks, that's a great idea. It's a Dell Orto PHF32. The petrol seems to be seeping out from somewhere just above the float bowl gasket. I'll use the talc and see what gives.

The talc powder test shows it leaks out of an overflow opening (I think that's what it is) next to the banjo fuel inlet fitting. I adjusted the float height to 18mm, using a cardboard tool I made. For it to be leaking like this, I think it must be coming past the needle and seat? I've taken it apart & checked for rubbish on the seat, still leaks. As noted previously, it's a new needle and seat, and also the gasket under it.

I did the talc test again and I think it's leaking from the banjo inlet.
