Re: Scrambler 350cc leaks and tightening torque
Thank you Duccout and Themoudie, you caught exactly my question. Maybe my english was not perfectly clear but I caught very well your answers. I will run again my bike after having tighened all the screws on the head cylinder and cylinder and check again if the bottom left side cylinder leak remains. In this case, I will go back to the meccanic (he is aware of my problem) to add some silicon just in lifting few mm the engine (without modifying the timing and dismouting everything)... I'll keep you updated

Hi Rocla,
Your English is very good, and certainly better than my French! It was clear from your first messages that you were talking about the cylinder base gasket, but somehow the message became confused as we tried to answer it, so 'well done' to Bill for bringing things back on track.
If the cylinder head bolts are tightened to the correct torque, then I think that there is a problem with the cylinder base gasket somehow, as oil leaks from this area are not normal.
Good luck,
Colin

Bonjour Rocla,
Not at all, but I just thought it would be a little friendlier.
And my French is awful, hence the use of the Google translator!
Good health, Bill

Re: Scrambler 350cc leaks and tightening torque
Hello everybody, my 350 Scrambler (1974) engine leaks again, at the same place, just because the O-ring gasket is not resilient enough. Who could provide me with the exact dimensions of the O -ring which is on the top of the cylinder, on the left side, positionned around the oil duct? And which kind of material it must be made of given the oil flow and temperature?
