Re: Stuck clutch
Morning Bob,
The 1mm spacer/shim, should be in at the back of the clutch drum so as to ensure that with the overall increased thickness of plates, you still get the lift, to obtain the required clearance, with the clutch lever pulled in.
I attach the fitting instruction slip that Nigel enclosed with my set of plates.
The 2mm plates make no difference to the pull required on the 450 clutch lever that requires extra leverage. But, if you've been running a 250/350 without the spacer, fitting one, will increase the pull required and the clutch may not feel so "light"!
It takes a few pulls to aclimatise when changing from the 450 to the Yamaha SRX/XT 600 clutch, very light and a later bite point on the SRX!
Good health, Bill

Re: Stuck clutch
Hi Bill ,Dont remember getting one ,but that could just be memory. If missing that could explain the clutch dragging a shade ?, I notice that although there is no wobble on the clutch center or drum the clutch pressure plate does wobble a mm or so when lifted. A sure sign that the springs (a newish set) are not equal in strength. On a crappy old brit bike clutch one would adjust the spring tensions to compensate. It should be possible to add a thin washer at the bottom of the spring box (under the spring) to compensate. Anyone tried that?.

Aye Bob,
Not had the problem, but cannot forsee a problem with shimming a spring inside the spring box.
Hope that you get sorted.

Re: Stuck clutch
Back safe from my ride. Now I know why old boys Keep these things in the house for decoration only. Its been a few years and its still a hooligan of a bike while I have gone soft riding Hondas and Nortons. Not sure I can hold the concentration needed, Its going to need a lot of tenderising to turn it into a relaxed mount. I my be better off with the 860 once I have put the gears in their proper place.
