Wiring issues

I have a 250 bevel 6v that I have been building from scratch, I am now getting to the stage of wiring. All the diagrams I have seen which have the same as mine two yellow wires coming from the generator to the regulator and two terminal marked yellow on the regulator, how do know which goes to which or does it not matter?

And the reason it doesn't matter, Lance, is 'cos it's an alternator, not a generator (i.e. producing AC not DC) ...
