True spec of 350 SCR 1974

Postby Rocla » Tue May 25, 2021 12:02 pm

Hello everybody, has somebody the true figures about power, tork and related rpm of 350 Scrambler 1974 ? On the official brochure, nothing is specified in the SCR column (only on the 350 road or 450 version). On some internet website, I saw 28 HP at 8500 rpm. I have some doubts about such figures ! My feeling is more about 23 or 24 HP at about 5500 rpm...

I have read that the fastest stock Ducati single of any capacity is a 250 Mark 3 Narrow case and they were quoted as having a similar HP , however I think about 24 Hp is about right, maybe less.

It ll depends where you are measuring horsepower, factory figures are most likely crankshaft and optimistic would be a kind description! If you run a stock 250 SCR on a rolling road recording rear wheel horsepower I would think 15 BHP if that would be more like it. I've seen a road 175 Sport at 7.5BHP, 250 M3 at 17BHP and 350 Desmo at 25BHP so the factory figures are largely irreverent....
