Good! Result! Well done, Peter.

The indicators are mounted using square rubber grommets, which have perished. Does anyone know of a supplier?

I have emailed the rubber-grommet.com people, and await their reply, however if anyone here knows the answer it would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you, that's fantastic.

I'll have to get him to post it to my out-laws in London. He refuses to post to Australia, saying "the Australian post office won't accept items from Spanish post" which they deny. Hopefully my MIL will venture out to the pox-ridden post office in Leatherhead.

The joys of owning a Vento.

Groan: now his website says he doesn't ship to the UK....

edit: it changed its mind, goods now in transit to the outlaws in Surrey.

Just in time for our new lockdown which should last until March, or until we are all vaccinated, or are all dead. Happy New Year!

I'm hearing stories of similar post-Brexit problems from other suppliers. Probably won't last, but if you have any more problems that way, Peter, you can always get them sent to me here in France and I'll forward.

Craig

Hi Craig,

It looks like the UK Government has decided that any company shipping goods to the UK from any other country, must register for, and pay VAT on the goods in the UK. I don't understand this as it is the retail customer who pays the VAT, but it appears that VAT fraud is so common that basically the overseas shop will have to charge the VAT and add it to the price of the goods so that the shop then pays Her Majesty's Government. I can see a lot more fraud in this system, because why would the shop reimburse HMG?

Hi Craig,

thank you very much, I really appreciate your offer. Happily the package is now, I'm told, on its way to the UK. Hopefully at some time in the future I'll be able to join you for a glass of French wine or British ale or similar to toast to our Ventos.

I have lost the throttle cable, perhaps due to senility. Before I order another, can anyone confirm that the standard Ducati 350 single throttle cable works? thanks
