oil quantity for mototrans 250 deluxe model

Hi i would like to know how much oil to put in my engine and also the filler plug doesnt have a level indicator so would the oil come up to the bottom of the thread where the plug goes in.

The handbook for a 250 De Luxe very helpfully states that the oil capacity is 2kg of oil.
I don't know many people who weigh their oil before pouring it into their motor.
However, if you don't have the filler tube as fitted to most Italian singles, just the screw in plug, filling up to the bottom of the threads is fine, as you surmise.

Hi Jon thanks for replying to my question. I have filled the engine with 2ltres of oil and it is at the bottom of the thread as you said was o/k.Thanks once again.

Weight of Oil. One gallon of oil is 6-8 pounds depending on density. If you assume SAE 10W-30 oil; density is 875 grams/liter = 1.929 pounds per liter = 7.3 pounds per US gallon.

2 kg = 2000 grams

2000 divided by 875 = 2.28 liters = 2.4 quarts
