Mach 1/Mark3 rear shock oil

Postby kaysystems » Thu Nov 24, 2016 9:45 pm

Hi

Does anyone know how much oil to put in the rear shocks? I'm replacing the original leaky seal. I don't know how much leaked out, but as a last resort I can compress the damper and fill to the top with oil.

Which leads to the next question - what oil to use. ATF, Fork oil, brake fluid ?

thanks

I have found 50ml of 10W fork oil works fine.
Too much oil can blow out the seals if you're not careful.

As a follow up, how to I get the rear shocks apart to replace the seal? I have a 30mm wrench to fit the large hex at the top of the barrel, but I can't undo it.

Thanks
