Anyone taken note of the 250 Monza on auction at the Mecum event today? What a charming example.

Re: Hinshaw's 250 Monza
I have seen that bike. It's perfect, perhaps too perfect. Don't get me wrong, I love looking at it, but how long would it look that way if you started riding it. I didn't know it being auctioned, thanks for sharing. Care to guess at the selling price? It probably won't get close to what was invested in it.

Re: Hinshaw's 250 Monza
Sold for $10K. The last Monza I recall in similar condition went for $3K so they have come up in the estimation of the collector market. I didn't expect a Monza to come anywhere near five figures. Sold for more than a "Diana" that was also auctioned which indicates that the condition was exceptional. I only noticed a couple of details that weren't correct.
Any idea if it was restored (i.e. re-chromed/painted) or if the parts like tank, muffler, rims, etc. were NOS?

It says 'restored' on the auction site...
And I agree - that's crazy money even if it's a concours-level resto...
