Bridge/coil repair kit.

Postby JJJ12345 » Fri Oct 09, 2015 6:44 pm

I would like to purchase a bridge / coil repair kit for a nc 5 speed. Tried to contact Desmo pro, but no reply. Any ideas or advice? Thanks

Our friends at Lacey Ducati sell the bridge. They call it a "spring retaining plate."

They don't mention the spring or the spacers, but perhaps if you email them they might either sell them or tell you what/where to buy with regards to the spring and spacers.

I believe the spaces are different lengths between 4-speed and 5-speed engines.

BTW, if you lean the bike over towards you it will help with the kick-start engagement until you get the fix installed.

Thanks for the info. I read the article on repairing a slipping kick starter and wanted to buy the kit. For now, I ordered 2 new springs from Lacey and I will get those installed. I don't know where to buy the "kit". Great article though.

I bought the entire package of parts from DesmoPro, but I know the fellow there is quite overwhelmed with engine work and restorations and it is difficult to establish contact with him.

Perhaps I misspoke and there is no seller of an entire 'kit' but rather you may just have to piece together your own parts. If you do this, you might share what the part number of the spring you use it and the ID/OD and length of the spacer.

Thanks for your help. Got the new leaf springs from Lacey installed and the kick starter works good for now. Now on to the next issue!
