Hi,
Can someone please explain the difference between these cylinder heads.
I think it's a 350, a spanish mototrans 250 and a 450 (from left to right), but what are the surfaces at the arrows?
Will the Mototrans 250 cylinder head fit a regular 250 wide case?

____ It seems you've already correctly identified the differences between them all.
The first-one which you suspect of being a 350-head, should thusly have a 76mm max.bore-diameter,, otherwise it's either a n-c.250-head or a w-c.250/350 cyl.head. _ To better tell for-sure, we'd need to see a pic.view of it's left-side camshaft-cavity's cover area.
__ Since your pic.lighting is a little hard on the eyes,, I've tried to adjust the lighting on each one separately, in attempt to make them all more-so the same brightness. _ So hopefully others will now have an improved pic.appearance to better see what-all is what.
" what are the surfaces at the arrows? "
____ Nothing important, just casting-notches probably having to do with production,, (I think).
" Will the Mototrans 250 cylinder head fit a regular 250 wide case? "
____ That cyl.head is from a w-c.Mototrans motor-model, (as can be determined by it's rectangular bolt-pattern),, so yes, it will fit any 250-engine that's not a n-c.Mototrans-version !

Re: Cylinder heads
Hello Bob,
Sorry for the bad picture..
I’ve checked the left side and the bore and I am now sure that the left head is a widecase 350.
Thank you for clarifying the “surface “question.
Because the Mototrans head came with 250 engine in parts i wasn’t a 100% sure it would fit .
I will use the mototrans head for a new 250 project. (long way to go…)
Cordialità

____ Didn't mean to imply it was "bad",, it's just that the light was too bright reflected off the first head which was right-next to the darkest head, (so it probably would've helped if the positions of those two heads had been swapped-around).

____ There was never such a cyl.head as a w-c.350-head ! _ The only 350-heads were stock just on n-c.350-engines !
WideCase-350 engines rather employ 250-heads.
" Thank you for clarifying the “surface “question. "
____ Didn't really 'clarify' what their actual purpose is ! _ That could probably only be cleared-up by some retired factory-worker.
