Paint type

Hi,

I would like to get advice regarding an appropriate type of paint to use for the restoration of a Monza Jr. Since paint and finish quality were of secondary concern to Ducati when the bikes were originally manufactured, I’m trying not to over-restore. I’m aware of the technical benefits to modern urethanes but am concerned that they won’t look “correct” due to their high-gloss finish. I was once told that Ducatis were originally painted with nitrocellulose lacquer. Can anyone confirm this and are any restorers using lacquers (either nitrocellulose or acrylic) these days? I know that my bike isn't a particularly rare or valuable model but I'd like this restoration to be accurate.
