Re: parts i.d
one of the front wheels came with a borrani rim unfortunatly it seems to have been built with the wrong offset it also seems to rub between the hub and the speedo drive cover when the wheel is fitted and spun is it the wrong speedo side cover for the hub ?

Re: parts i.d
is this carb a std ducati part? the nearest reference i can find is the ub 22.5 bs2 listed for the 175 sport this only says ub22bs but there doesnt seem to be enough room for the rest anyway ?
edit ... this came fitted to the 175

Re: parts i.d
The frame is a Monza or early Diana. The speedo drive plate is correct for that hub, may be rubbing because the drive mechanism has apparently been removed. Does the rim say “Borrani” on it? I do not recall Borrani ever making a non-flanged rim. Appears to be alloy, more likely a Japanese or Akront rim. The carb is believable as original to one of the smaller bevel singles or perhaps a pushrod model but 250’s did not use a carb of that type. Matt

I think it's just an illusion with the photo, looks like a non-flanged rim, but if it's marked Borrani Record it must be a flanged alloy rim. Very prized update for rims.

Another trip into the catacombs - your carb appears to be from a 160 Monza Jr. The 250 frame seems to have mounts for "round" style toolbox/air cleaner ( Gt, Monza, early Diana). If no frame numbers it may have been US delivered originally. Too bad about the missing seat mounts / bent loop. Does the 175 frame have swingarm bushings in frame or swingarm , mounts for "triangle" toolboxes , or frame numbers ? I really like that rim ; does the rear match ? I may be wrong (happens a lot) but you may have a bearing/spacer problem with the speedo drive cover / hub contact. George T.

Re: parts i.d
hi george,
thanks for the info on the carb im hoping to build the engine to s spec so ill probably need something else.
unfortunatly i havent got a matching set of ally rims and just to add insult to injury its mounted on the only 7 rib hub ive got, the other front ive got is a 3 rib as are the two rears.
dont know about toolbox mounts but i think the swingarm is the early type but not sure

Sorry for not getting back sooner.
That seems to be a rear mount for " triangle " toolbox ; should also have a 1 bolt mounting tab at top . I love that style of box , they just look " right " .
The swingarm appears to be early type . Hopefully you can get that frame repaired .
I don't know a lot about pre-65 Ducati's , but have a rough example ( '60 200 TS ) to look at that is all original .
