Re: Monza 250 (NC) restoration.

I didn’t use individual ring part numbers. I ordered a set of 74mm rings from the Hastings racing piston ring catalog. They fit a Honda Civic. Found the correct thickness and diameter in the application chart. The oil rings are three-piece rather than the one piece scraper Borgo design. The oil ring...

Re: Monza 250 (NC) restoration.

Have you tried the Hastings Piston Rings website? I found a set that fit a 250 Mk3 (single oil ring). Wiseco is another possibility.

Re: Scrambler seat 250 N / C.

I believe this is an original NC SCR seat base. The cover is not original. The spacer welded in place between the two front mounting tabs might not be original. At any rate, this is basically what you’re looking for.

Re: Frame Badge

“250 M3” is the vehicle type identifier for a Mark 3. A Diana frame tag would be stamped “250 D” in the vehicle type location.

Re: 380 cc Ducati racer

Bill,

Looks like you may be out in the cold if you need parts for your Staccato transmission. Have a look at motogears.cz. The pictures on the website certainly look impressive but I have no experience with their work. Might be a resource for you at some point.

Re: 380 cc Ducati racer

Probably some condensation inside the engine if it sat idle for many years. Oil alone wouldn’t coagulate like that. The other possibility is that it was run on castor oil which would probably leave a mess after sitting for years

Re: 380 cc Ducati racer

http://www.motoscrubs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2829&p=21112#p21110 Does your primary look like this? I had this Staccato conversion apart some time ago. The primary cover was magnesium but the thickness of the sand casting resulted in a cover that probably weighed more than the standard...

Re: 380 cc Ducati racer

Looks like the sixth gear employs an extension to the shift drum (or an entirely different drum) and a dog clutch to engage the gear. It would have to use an additional selector pin and detent. Nigel Lacey has a limited supply of Nova replacement parts. Best to identify your needs ASAP while parts a...

Re: 380 cc Ducati racer

“Staccato” were products developed by Pat Townshend with Nova. The gears behind the primary gear identifies a six-speed conversion to the standard five speed transmission. You may have a “short stroke” 350 which would account for the 81mm bore. Measure the stroke length and do the math. Would really...
