Acorn/Cap Nuts for rear shock mounting

Postby 10531 » Mon Aug 29, 2011 8:49 pm

Hi Everyone,

Whenever I look through threads about the rear suspension on our Duc Singles, I always see people wanting to know where they can get those elusive Acorn nuts with the 1mm thread.

Recently I contacted Eurolink and they came back to me with a quotation of $75 for 100 M10x1.0 DIN 1587 Steel Acorn Nuts.

They are not chrome plated, just plain steel, but the price is pretty good and that includes freight and taxes from Europe to their facility in Greer, South Carolina.

If there is enough interest, I am more than happy to put in an order, even though I have all my Acorn Nuts, and sell them onwards for cost plus postage.
Otherwise, if there is a list member in South Carolina, preferrably near Greer, then I can forward you the email I received and you can be the Acorn Nut distribution specialist :)

What do you think? Good enough, or do they have to be chrome? Did they come chromed from the factory? I would doubt it.

I believe all of them where chromed from the factory.

I buy all mine from Giovanni Gentile in the netherlands

For $56.79 u.s.d. You get the full package 4 chromed acorn nuts, 8 shock bushings, and 8 shock washers

here is a link to the last ebay auction he had on them... ... 2496wt_834

I think it would be good to have these made in stainless steel.
