I bought a basket case Mk 3 250 (engine number 88163). Also included were a second set of crankcases. As far as I can see the outer cases are standard, but I can't find any reference to an engine number of 100?
Any suggestions?
Cheers, Dave

Hello Dave, I'm afraid that engraved "100".
It is not original, maybe someone erased the original numbers and stamped the number "100".
Greetings.

I too bought a basket case 250 motor about a month ago. The photo of the VIN wasn't clear, but I thought it might have been a Scrambler head because of the larger intake port in the picture. I didn't examine the VIN closely until I got home a few hours later. This is a Mark 3 VIN. I consider myself very lucky on this one, now I am going to have to build a bike around it.
