There’s a lot on here about fixing our bikes but I’ve been out riding mine today. Weather is really good here in UK and as I’ve been called back to work from Monday I thought I’d better make the most of it.
So 100 miles from home up into the scenery of the Peak District and back. One of our favourite VMCC cafes was open (takeaway only) so a cuppa and Bakewell tart sitting on the grass too.

The weather has been hot all day here in Norfolk also, so I took the opportunity and got the buffing machine outside, and polished the engine outer covers, a job I dislike intensely.
I think you made a good decision Ian, it would have been far more pleasant by the look of your picture, had I followed you lead.

I spent a fair while cleaning the little Ducati and also my Guzzi 1000SP at the beginning of this lockdown when we weren't supposed to be out at all. I subsequently decided to sort out the horrible clutch on my other Guzzi (850GT) so after dinner last night I went out to the garage and re-fitted the gearbox, having assembled what I hope will be a good clutch using the best parts selected from 3 sets of bits.

Yes it's a bit like the Curate's Egg, with a box of used parts, the proof of the pudding as they say.
Nice looking machine, 999

Yes I prefer riding them to fixing them too, here's the baby Desmo cooling down just back from a 60mile run out this morning to the bottom of the Ards peninsula and back.....such a lovely morning on on such a perfect little motorcycle
Cheers,
George

I’ve got a non-standard carb too - PHBL24. According to my GPS we hit 65mph during the day, which doesn’t seem too bad for a 175.

This is what I will be fitting on my 200 SS, 27 mm SSI. I refurbished it, making a new Bellmouth, Mounting stub and top locking clip.
It's sprayed with Simoniz 5 wheel silver , I did a test piece, and put it in petrol for a week with no reaction, so fingers crossed.
