muffler recommendations?

Postby howlndog » Thu Jun 09, 2016 8:17 pm

The original Silentium is pretty rusted out so I'd like to replace it. Can anyone offer advice on a (reasonably priced) replacement? FWIW, performance bests originality if push comes to shove.

Thank you.

I've found that the attachment bracket where the muffler bolts to the bike tends to crack due to the single's tendency to vibrate. Therefore I've been sticking to my well-worn Silentium and will probably scrounge for another one after this one breaks.

Someone is reproducing Silentiums. My problem is that I like originality, and the new Silentium I bought did not have the same logo/graphics as was on the original muffler.

Take a look here:

There is no photo on this site, but it claims that it comes with the SIlentium mark.

Here's another supplier...

Thanks fellas - I was wondering why the 350 has a different part number than the 250 & 450 (060984105 and 061584400, respectively)? Is the difference only in the "inscription numbers" or is there some mechanical difference between the two?

Has anyone dealt with this seller before?

Yes, I bought parts from Andreas Nienhagen/desmo-shop. He is a reliable, friendly and helpful guy, presumably the best single parts dealer here in Germany.
