Wanted - "One Size Fits All" Ducati ignition key that was used through 1965 on cycles that used the 4 terminal switch. I've got a reproduction key (image attached) but want an original that that has the plastic "cap".
Thanks, Dan

Re: Wanted - Ignition Key
At some point you think, "When I die my kids are just going to pitch this stuff in the trash."
I have four keys, all with the name "Aprilia" stamped on them, three with plastic tops. Two of my three plastic-topped keys have drilled holes in them; clearly they look to have been hand drilled. I have been using the plastic-topped key in the worst condition (third from the left.)
I know it looks like there is some metal poking out of the plastic but that's just an effect of the camera flash.
One plastic-topped key is absolutely perfect and I am understandably keeping that one. I am going to keep a second plastic-topped key for actual use. In that way if I loose it from my pocket or it falls out while I am riding and gets lost along the road side I have the perfect one "in the bank" so to speak.
I think I should tuck the full metal key in the headlight bucket for that possible emergency of having lost my key while away from home, although it may not work as it is about 0.3mm shorter than the three other keys.
If you think you want to buy the worst of my plastic-topped keys send me a PM and we can discuss it.
Jim
