450 Mark 3 Camshaft Change

frame is home build and made to look like a Cheney pre 65 for a BSA but modified to accept the Ducati widecase engine.

a Belgian guy is running a narrowcase 250 4 speed engine in these frames . engine is enlarged to 370 cc with a Sebring crankshaft and a oversize liner and piston . he is using it in the pre 65 class and doing pretty good .

Kev and Eldert how did your cam changes work out after you both had time to get them sorted?

I have a Grey cam I want to fit to a 450 Scrambler.
I'll clean up the inlet port a little, 32mm Dellorto (Darmah jets) and a better flowing muffler.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi Graeme,

The G&W camshaft and a conti style pipe greatly improved the upper end performance of my 450 without losing anything low.

The only downside was that it changed the way it likes to be started. It now wants about 3 priming kicks to get a rich enough mixture in the pot. Once I figured that out, all good.
