I've used the "claw hammer" method before but the last clutch cover I removed wouldn't budge. The outer crankshaft support bearing was a pretty tight fit in the clutch cover and on the end of the crank. Proceed with caution if using this method. When I got the motor home and had the inspection plug tool at hand, the cover came off easily.
Does anyone know where to source the lower bevel bearing cartridge puller (at the top of the page in Machten's tool collection pic)? I've considered having one made but the bevel single tools seem to be getting replicated of late (though it's a rather esoteric job that calls for this tool). MW
Handy Puller-Tool can serve an even more usefull purpose !
