I copied the RT out of 10mm aluminium plate
Hope this explains it

Re: Side Stand
I have bought a Honda stand off of eBay to see what I can do with it. Got to start somewhere. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Re: Side Stand
Here is an update for anyone looking at doing the same.
I could not get the Honda stand to fit (I think that it was from a Fireblade) so I resold it and tried a stand from a Triumph 955, which bolts to the bike via a triangular plate with three mounting holes. I bought a longer lower rear engine bolt and mounted the plate on this using the top hole of the stand. This worked (almost) but the rear brake pedal return spring fouled the spring pillar of the stand. I couldn't move the spring pillar because then the spring would have fouled the pivot bolt. Back to the drawing board. After a few more weeks of mulling, I managed to gain enough clearance by removing the brake return spring, but still needed an additional mounting point to stop the stand rotating on the engine bolt, which I did by making up a bracket that mounts on the footrest plate.
It works great and does the job, but is not as clean as I would like, so I will see if I can improve it. Things would have been easier if I had welding facilities, and it is somewhat bodged because I wanted to see if the concept would work before investing more time in it. I may grind a notch in the brake pedal a to get more clearance and refit the return spring, but it seems fine without it. I will clean things up a bit and get some parts welded, so it looks a bit more professional.
