1972 Ducati 450 MK3 (posted to Bevelheads)

Posted to the Bevelheads:

I am selling my 1972 Ducati 450 Mk3 restoration project. I bought this bike
11 years ago from a person who had disassembled it completely and started a
restoration which he never brought to an end. He put all the small bits in
labelled boxes and wrapped the big parts in bubble-wrap. I have simply kept
it stored since. The bike model is almost exactly like the one you can see
here:
http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/mot ... tures.html

except for three "details":

1) the mudguards on my bike are painted in the same color as tank and
sidepanels as opposed to chrome plated

2) my bike is in pieces, but all parts are there

3) my bike is much more rusty than the one depicted, nearly all chrome
plated parts are to be rechromed, and all painted parts need to be
repainted.

however, the bike is complete, no parts are damaged beyond restoration,
there are no dents, bumps on sheet metal parts, bent tubes, cracks, damage
from accidents, etc.; rust is superficial and does not perforate the tank or
other bodywork parts, there are no "customizations", nor non-standard,
modified or missing parts.

the bike has regular Italian documents, and the numberplate is the original
one issued in 1976 when this bike was first registered (although it is a
1972 model).

If you are interested in purchasing this bike, you can contact me directly
at lucaguala@libero.it

I will provide plenty of pictures to illustrate all bits and pieces. I
already took some pics of the bigger parts, I intend to take more this
coming weekend.

I will accept proposals in the order of 3500 euros (4400 US$; 4300 AUD). If
you think this is too much, I will consider near offers, if you think this
is too little, feel free to offer more!

I am willing to ship this bike world wide however the cost of shipping will
have to be defined depending on destination.

If I don't succeed in selling the complete bike to one buyer, the next step
will be to sell each single piece, so in this case, keep an eye on the
auctions by seller Pantah500 on http://www.ebay.it.

Thanks for posting this, Jim. I tend to stay off Bevelheads these days - just too much rubbish (how many times a day can you be bothered to hit the 'Delete' button? :x )

I note the seller - Luca Guala. Really one of the Good Guys, folks. I could be tempted if the garage wasn't already full ... ;)

Ciao

Craig
