Have two front wheel hubs for my 350 Desmo. one has 6 internal ribs, the other 12.
Can anyone tell me why, and are there advantages of one over the other?
I'm pretty sure it's not important but would like to know anyway.
Thanks, Shane

Front-wheel Hubs with 6 or 12 Ribs
" Have two front wheel hubs for my 350 Desmo. one has 6 internal ribs, the other 12.

____ You didn't mention how your 350D came to "have two front wheel hubs" ...
Where did you get the 12-rib hub, did you acquire some spare parts from a 450 ?
" and are there advantages of one over the other? "
____ It would seem to be a strength & weight trade-off situation.

PLEASE NOTE... If this-post is not-yet signed-off with '-Bob', then I'm still in the process of completing it,, and if not also included with 'DCT' near bottom as well, then I may edit this post's wording at a later time. - Dct.Bob

Re: Front wheel hub
I think the 12-rib hubs were found on the 450's - I have them on both my 450 Jupiter and 450 Mark 3

Where did you get the 12-rib hub, did you acquire some spare parts from a 450 ?"
I was given some spare parts by an acquaintance when my 350 was mobile (many years ago). Now that it has been in parts for so long I can't remember which hub was which. The parts I was given included a twin filler tank (damaged) whereas the tank on my bike had a single filler. As the 450 didn't have a twin filler (as far as I know) I assume it was a 350. The side covers/tool box/air-filter box included in the gift state 350 mark(or is it mach?) 3. They've since had the paint removed (big mistake on my part). But to complicate matters the fork crown was made to hold handlebars, not clip-ons. Maybe it was a"bitser"
Anyway, as the history is clouded, I was just wondering which hub to go with.
Thanks, Shane

Re: Front wheel hub
would like to amend last post. On close inspection, can just make out lettering, it appears the side cover box's say 250 not 350. So I assume the parts I was given may have come from more than one bike. BTW how do you edit a post?
Thanks, Shane
