Converting a faux hub vent to functional
I am just getting started on a 160 resto. I bought a used set of hubs and rims to temporarily replace the totally rusted set of rims that came on my bike. I started polishing the front hub and realized the cooling vents are no more effective than those on my dad's '63 Buick. Can I take a dremel and cut a slit where the faux vent exits, basically open it up to let air to flow in? I probably won't be riding the bike hard enough to need it, but it seems silly to have a faux vent when it would be easy to make it real.

Doing it neatly is the challenge.
When it rains, you might wish you could close it up again.
