Colin,

I have some spare clutch covers but post to UK might kill that idea.

Hi Graeme,

I think that we have discussed this before and I found that post to the UK made it economical. Thanks for the offer though, I'll keep it in mind.

Cheers,

Colin

Hi Al,

Thank you for spotting this and offering to help, but I need a wide case cover not narrow case. I am still pondering whether to try to get mine repaired, but I know that a replacement would be the safest and cheapest option, so I will see what turns up and mull it over.

Thanks again,

Colin

Hi Colin,
I have a spare widecase cover,
If you can figure out the shipping, I'm in the nashville TN USA area, it's for you.

Hi Bruce,

Thank you, I really appreciate that, but I have made some enquiries and it looks like shipping is a killer. A few years ago it was cheaper to buy my spares from Australia than Italy, but postal charges have risen so much in recent years that it has made international shipping really expensive.

Thanks again,

Colin

Hi, I recently posted stuff to the US through parcels to go. I was really surprised how cheap it was. Definitely worth putting the sizes and weight into the website?

Aye Colin,

I too have used Parcels2Go, to ship eBay sales and motorcycle parts around the world.

Link: Parcel2Go

However, when importing parts into the UK, the import duties, postage, VAT on all services including the carriage, all add up and make it very expensive, as you have found.

I used to import parts for my Yamaha SRX 600's from Japan, using their Jauce (Japanese eBay) service. Multiplying the price paid in JapaneseYen and then multiplying that by a factor of 3, before converting to GBPounds gave a good estimate of costs. This is now eye watering and requiring a factor of 4 to obtain reasonbly accurate costs.

Nigel may be able to assist, but he is swimming against some strong currents at present, after he and his wife were struck down by the Covid variant, recently.

Good health, Bill

I have turned up a couple of mandrels to fit inside the bores of the bush and the bearing and I have an error of about 25 thou from the bush to 4 inches away from it, which does not seem much, but is probably enough to hold the cover at an angle to the gasket face?

Current thinking is to find another cover, if possible, then in the Winter look at getting the old one modified.

Cheers,

Colin
