DC Voltage Drops While Running

As a matter of interest, I'm told that a choke can be used by itself, as an alternative to a capacitor, to store charge and act as a battery eliminator.
But they are big, heavy and expensive whereas an electrolytic capacitor is smaller, lighter and cheaper.
Using both choke and caps must be the premium arrangement for a flat-lining DC output.
