Hi. I have a 1964 Elite, bought in bits. The footrest bracket on thee frame was bent and I've recently had it repaired. There is a small bracket that has been cut off. Can anyone identify what it was for?1964 Elite frame bracket

It looks like the stop for the rear brake pedal to rest against. Mine looks pretty much like that if I have interpreted your photo correctly.

I thought that too! Difficult to tell from the photo though.

The parts book does not show it. It's on the rhs of the frame. The photo shows the frame upside down and the rhs footrest. The brake is on the lhs.

Just turned photo right way up. It is showing left hand side, sitting on bike left side same as your left hand.
The small bracket is brake pedal stop.
The small bracket is brake pedal stop.

That'll be it, the brake stop. It is on the left, despite my earlier comment. As it's a bit battered, I thought something had been cut or broken off, but it is as it should be. Thanks.
