Ducati 450 RT Fork Oil Quantity

Postby Opentraffic » Thu Oct 20, 2022 3:16 pm

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone can give me an indication of RT fork oil capacity / air gap.

I believe these forks are longer than the standard scramblers.

Cheers

Pete

180-185cc in each fork leg, according to the rider's handbook.

Hi Pete

RT stancions are 60 cm just like Scrambler type 2 the damperrod is 4 cm longer then a Mark3 and 2cm longer then a Scrambler rod .
that is why the fork is longer .

the RT fork has about 16 cm working stroke so if you keep the airgap 16 cm you will be OK

Thank you Chaps

Eldert, would that be 16cm airgap without spring installed and fully compressed?

First ride on the RT and the forks were super soft so looking to change fluid to 10W or 15W and try again.

yes , spings removed and fully compressed . move the sliders a few times so trapped air can get out
