Dellorto SSI 29D Restoration

Postby Stan Lipert » Sun May 10, 2020 2:25 pm

Just sharing my latest Carb restoration/rebuild.
I'm very pleased with the baked-on caliper paint, my testing demonstrated no softening of the paint when soaked in fuel overnight.
Some parts are zinc plated locally, some are original finish.

Wow, it's like you just pulled it out of a sealed box from the 1960s.

It's a beautiful carb, thanks for sharing.

Jordan,
VHT High Temperature Caliper Paint, SP735 Cast Aluminum
Instructions include baking @200 degree F for one hour to cure the paint for chemical resistance. I used a toaster oven.
