WTD: Mach 1 Tail Light Assembly

Well, my first ride on the Mach 1 had mixed results.

Bike rode great, but the 2 bolts holding the red plastic brake light lens and the reflector/globe/wire terminal etc vibrated loose and those parts fell off. I retraced my ride but couldn't find them anywhere. :( This is all I have left of the brake light assembly:

So I'm chasing a NOS (if possible) CEV Brake/Tail light assembly for a 65 Mach 1.

I will settle for just the internal reflector/globe mount with the terminal block if needed as I can get the red plastic lamp from R&R for $20 and the alluminium housing is still on the bike.

I'm going to have to buy shares in Loctite and Loctite all of the bolts etc on the whole bike I think.

If you really want oem original... this is the only place I have ever seen these n.o.s.

Loudbike.com

housing 0177.74.430
http://www.loudbikestore.com/017774430- ... 14544.html

Lens 0177.74.380
http://www.loudbikestore.com/017774380- ... 14551.html

Reflector/Socket "Parabola" 0177.74.410
http://www.loudbikestore.com/017774410- ... 14554.html

Or... You can buy a reproduction assembly from Lacey Engineering. But I guess you probably don't need the housing... after the currency conversion (loudbike is in canada) Your looking at about $80 AUD, plus shipping, (for the reflector, and the lens only) you will have to get a quote on the shipping though...

Your welcome, I also noticed giovanni sells a complete assembly for 75euro I think it was...
www.classicitalianbikes.com
but, if you dont need a complete unit, this might cost a little more, with shipping, and currency conversion. I have seen several assemblies at different sites but not many people specify if they are oem or not... the only parts I know for sure are oem, are the ones I referenced at loudbike. He has sold the vast majority of his duke single stuff off, he is a lot more geared toward the twins. I have spent a lot of time searching his site for parts I needed, thats when I stumbled on these... I referenced the part #'s also, because without typing them in, there is no other way to look parts up on there...

And maybe put a little loctite blue on the screws.

My M1 had (maybe still has) a formed opaque plastic channel gasket that went between the lens and the metal housing. Probably this was intended to weatherproof the taillight electrics.

I am also thinking the plastic probably compressed a little and maybe that helped put some tension on the screws to keep them from vibrating loose (and out.) I haven't seen many NOS or repros that have that gasket.

Yeah, I have the number here for that gasket, (0177.74.370) but I dont know anyone who has any, you could probably make one... Domiracer stocks the "american style tailight" ones for the cev 9313, I just picked up a couple of those since thats what mine use. I have looked around and havent seen any for the European style light, maybe ask Giovanni.

Yep, my original one had the gasket. If worse comes to worst, I'll just make one myself out of some silicon sheet. We have oodles of 3mm thick silicon sheet here at work.
Thanks for the ref # though. I'll try googling it and see what I come up with.

Phil at Road & Race here in Aus has the lenses for $20aud a piece. So I'm getting 2 from him (1 spare) and I've ordered the reflector from Loudbike.

I'm going to go over all the bolts on the bike with a little Loctite just to make sure stuff doesn't vibrate off. I was lucky with the tail light, but maybe next time the parts wont be some easily source-able. Better to Loctite everything :-)
