Are you looking for one ready to go, or one to build ? Not meaning to offend anyone, but I have bought countless Ducati single cranks, Ive heard every story you can think of as to how it has "minimal side to side play" "nice and tight" "no slop" Ive heard it all... and as of yet i have never bought a used ducati single crank that was ready to go. I have seen them go on ebay for anywhere from $20 to $700, and I have paid a lot of prices in between, (never close to 700 or anything though) So just beware of anyone, other than eldert, or malcom, or nigel lacey, or any experienced engine builder who tries to sell you a crank as "ready to go" if it hasnt been apart, just assume it needs at the minimum, torn down, inspected, new big end rollers, re-assembled and trued... That being said, I have at least 8 250 narrow case cranks in my stash, but none are "ready to go" If you have one thats in decent shape (as far as you know I mean) you could ship it to me for rebuild, or at least inspection, to see what you need... I have all the facilities/tooling to press apart the cranks, re-assemble and true them...Just a thought. I would strongly advise against paying any kind of big $$ for an "ebay crank" If you dont want to send it to me, you could ship it to Syd's for rebuild, I know they have parts in stock also. They are usually pretty busy though, and fairly pricey...

Jason, I just realized you are in Australia... In that case I would just call phil at road & race... he sells a complete rod kit for $340.00 and if you just have the crankshaft halves (flywheels) you can have a nice crank built locally there in Australia for less than you would spend buying anything worthwhile from the usa... If for some reason, you have no crankshaft at all, and cant find a "core" locally, let me know...

Thanks for the email, I am after a whole 250 crank, and I would, no matter what condition pull it apart, I just had a quote from a guy in New Zealand New Old Stock $750 kiwi, at the age it would be I would still split the crank (but too $$$), be right and do it once.
I know Phil @ Road & Race and he doesn't have any, well any he wants to part with, I am keeping an eye on ebay, I have some new old stock rods, probably the main concern is the oil pump end though I did get one machined and a hard chrome sleeve fitted. Are you wanting to part with any of yours ???

A full N/C bottom end with crank cheeks might be a bridge too far, but I recently sourced a brand new original 250 W/C big end assembly (still in the original packet) from Ian Gowanloch for AU$338. As you are in Australia, it might be worth an email at least - you never know....

Of couse there all sorts of arguements about using later metalurgy (and I'd think they are generally right) but I knew this one would fit, so I got it, and that's what I'm using. I reckon it will see me out of my riding days given what the M3D is likely to get.

Jason, How many connecting rods do you have ? Any n/c 250 rods to sell ? I have the opposite problem, plenty of cranks, but not enough rods/crank pins. Im sure we could work something out either way... $750 is crazy money to pay, I would need to check on shipping price. If you dont need a rod, and just the crank halves I would sell you one cheap. I need to keep 2 cranks for my 2 n/c projects, but the rest are for sale, if I get some time here, I will take pictures of the good useable ones I have to sell.

I have a hand full of rods and pins, some are good and some well not sure. I would be interested in the cranks two halves, PM me your email address and I can send you some photo's, I tried Ian but he said no.
