I have a right clipon and either need a left, or wink sell my right one if someone wants it. I really could use it, so I would prefer to find a left (clutch side) one. Thanks.

Hi Tony,
Perhaps you could just get a single clip-on from this vendor:
http://www.motocicliveloci.it/images/ca ... t.5010.JPGOr buy a pair to insure a visual match and sell off the original you have to help recoup the expense.
Motocicliveloci sells the nearest thing to originals that I have ever seen. I bought a pair in 32mm for a bitsa that wears non-stock forks and was very impressed with them though, like all things of good quality, they are not cheap.
On a side note I am trying to find original-looking fork gaiters for the MV Agusta project and if you have any leads like Italian vendors that might carry gaiters please let me know.

Hi Jim,
I do have a set of the motocicliveloci clipons but I have to say, I am not a big fan. The reason is that there is no slit in the perch so the cable can slide through. Without that the cable has to be re-threaded into the sleeve. Maybe there is a better way ? Also, the levers that come with the motocicliveloci clipons are just strange. I have fitted a set of benelli levers which sort of fit and look better IMHO. Thanks for your suggestions - let's see if I get anyone who has a lefty ! Here are some pics of my motocicliveloci:

Tony,
I recently saw a single clipon somewhere on eBay. I've looked all over for it but was unable to find it again.
I'm not sure what side it was. Maybe someone on here also saw it and saved it in their watch list.
Did you just buy the one you have? Maybe it was the one I saw.
I see what you mean by the repro ones being odd.
I don't know why someone would go through all the trouble of making them and not doing it right.
It looks like they cheated and welded a round threaded piece on for the cable adjusters.
It should be two pieces of stamped steel welded on the outside seam, with a slit left for the cable.
Have you tried fitting the early straight style levers to the bars?
They might fit better then the benelli ones .
Also I've reshaped levers to fit by filing the angle where they meet the perches.

I purchased my clipon some time ago, hoping the seller would find the other one but no such luck . Yes, there was one for sale on eBay, but it was the same side, darn !!

The Veloci clipon clamp looks just like the original Ducati but the lever perches are very different. I think these clipons were patterned after an Aermacchi model. Would be so simple to fabricate correct Ducati perches but they only offer the Aermacchi version. I once asked Paul Montgomery (proprietor of Guzzino, which used to stock these clipons but no longer does) if he could get the clipons in the raw (unplated) and without perches welded on. He said "you're the third person today who has asked me that...". I have two right side clipons myself, no lefts. What's up with the left side? Matt

Here is another supplier. I might spring for a set of these.

I've been kicking around an idea to make clipons for awhile. My idea was to use a pair of Verlicchi wards riverside bars as a donor. I have a set I purchased for the throttle, it was cheaper then buying a throttle alone. What I thought was: cut the bars off with a little extra room to trim later, have the chrome stripped off, make the clamp parts on a lathe. Weld on the pinch bolt boss, cut the slit, weld the bars on, clean everything up, have them chromed.
I'm sure I could do it and make them look almost stock(much better then the copies available)
I would need a set to pattern them to or get really good measurements though.
Just an idea I've had for awhile, I don't actually need a pair though. Since I'm not lucky enough to have a bike that uses them.
