Aluminum Ducati tanks made in India

Postby Eldert » Sun Aug 04, 2013 6:15 am

Hi Guys

if anyone is looking for a Alu tank for a racer or caféracer a guy in India is making these .

he also made me some alu tanks for the 450 RT

there is a thread going at the Ducati MS forum about this :

http://www.ducati.ms/forums/14-vintage/ ... tanks.html

i bought 10 tanks from this guy and had no problems so far . once they have a sample tank the lead time for a tank
is very short . no years of waiting like other places .

here a picture of the caféracer tank

Which ducati tanks does he have available? I have seen the Elite jelly-mold and the RT. I am thinking about have him do the chrome scrambler tank.

Hi Sebouh

you have to contact Rohan about the Scrambler tank . he might have a sample tank allready

last april i went to the Reggio Emilia swapmeet in Italie and a guy from Austria , Wolfgang was selling aluminum and steel
RT tanks . i looked at the tanks and said to him made in India . he looked at me and said how do you know , i replied to him i supplied the sample tank . Wolgang then told me he send a scrambler tank to Rohan to copy

Hi, new to the forum and Ducati,

I’m in the market for a tank for my 1965 scrambler? Are these tanks still available and any idea of cost.
Thanks
Jim

I can't vouch for these guys, but followed the links in this old, old thread.

You could also PM Eldert. He had said that he had purchased a number of tanks successfully, that was 8 - 10 years ago. He may have a source. I am looking for a Diana tank for a project bike, so let us know how you make out.

Many thanks Gregwils,

I have contacted the fuel tank maker and I will update you as soon as I have a reply. My only worry is, he is selling scrambler 350 tank and I have a 250, do you know if the tanks were the same?

I don't know with certainty, not a Scrambler owner. They appear different to me. I regularly see used Scrambler tanks on eBay, so you could watch for one there too.

I have also sent tanks to India to be copied in aluminium.
This was in the last few months.
The Indian supplier was advertising them on E-bay until very recently, but has currently stopped doing so.
This is solely due to the worldwide Coronavirus outbreak, with restrictions on movement in India.
Once the crisis is over, I would guess that all the Indian suppliers will be advertising their tanks again.

The widecase 250 Scrambler tank is the same as the widecase 350 Scrambler tank.
