Before tackling this is wasn't sure what to expect... turned out to be easy. Figured posting this might help somebody else out. Although the workshop manual suggests removing and replacing the bearing in a single heating. I chose to remove the bearing in one heating, then clean the bearing recesses thoroughly, then heat the cases again to press in the new bearings. I had read about others not cleaning the bearing recesses in their cases and ending up with too little clearance.
I understand that putting the new bearings in a freezer makes them contract and therefore easier to install. I'll try to post pictures of the installation when I get there.
Anybody else have tips?
