I have to say I have been keeping my eye out for a single as I have to say they are an amazing looking rider. I am still reading and comming up to speed on the narrow/wide case differences and issues and the best choice to make a rider that could be a dd but rather a few times a week without much issue. Either way I have tons to learn and am more than open to being pointed in any direction for a good read.

Anyways, back on topic, I was able to message the moderator about a specific bike on his photo page as it really caught my eye. I understand that it is a mix/match of parts etc but can anyone provide more information on the bike in the link? Also other than craigs list and ebay are there other options online to source a bike?

That is a nice one for sure.

As far as where to find one, think CL is probably the best. That is where I found mine (on the other side of the country). You have to be willing to take a risk - mine was not exactly what I thought I was getting but still worth it.

You can do a nationwide CL search. Go to google and put in site:craigslist.org then what you are looking for.

Yes, that is a very nice narrowcase with few original parts. I originally was going to build my narrowcase along those lines, but now I'm finding myself gravitating more towards a mix of original Ducati parts.

I have to say I've been really surprised at what singles have been going for lately. Ten grand for scramblers on eBay, and yesterday the Chicago area Sebring posted here. Two years ago I thought I paid too much at $550 for a non-running narrowcase scrambler missing a lot of pieces (with title). Today I think that was a great price and that I got lucky.

I think narrowcases have better lines, but if something pops up locally and for a reasonable price I would grab it no matter what model. Search craigslist daily - you never know when one will pop up and you have to act fast if it's not too expensive.

Mike, it is a nicely done narrow case bitsa. Not much original on it. The engine looks like a smaller displacement, maybe a 250 at most. The forks are Japanese, possibly from an RD Yamaha. The headlamp is an aftermarket, as is the tailight. Gas tank and the seat are fiberglass parts possibly from Road and Race. As far as the prices go, Singles did go up recently. I keep seeing just Desmo engines by themselves going for 3-4K on eBay. If I had to buy this particular bike, I would pay 5-6K for it at the most. There are no expensive/ valuable Ducati parts on it, other than the engine maybe. Why so much? Because it is darn well and tastefully put together. i saw this one but the money to possibly obtain it and even then who knows if the frame would even work with the look of the bike and the aftermarket parts to get it to a bitsa.. and its a darn nice bike to do that to

leaves me in a rough spot trying to find a decent rider for an ok price that I can start with.

any pointers or leads on directions for the aftermarket tanks/fenders in the pic on motoscrubs?

is there a reason they block off the bevel drive gear oil pasage and run the lines like this?

____ I'd like to see exactly where that oil-feed line ends-up at!
I'm guessing that they routed the oil that way to provide cooler oil for the parts that receive it.
I'm in the dark on this. - (And don't like it!)
