Has anyone managed to get a center refurbished or is replacement the only option? mine is well notched by the action of the plates, new ones are thin on the ground and seconhand often worn out.

David at DucBits has new Ergal center hub. Only $450  :o

I think I'd sure give it a try before shelling out that green.

A lightweight aluminium alloy clutch hub might be great for weight saving and acceleration, but if a steel one isn't up to it, makes me wonder how long an Al one would last?
What about a weld-up and re-milling of the "spline" grooves?

Welding and milling, is a bit beyond my hammering and hacksawing skills, it would be nice if someone did a re machining service and supplied a set of plates in an oversize form to suit, has anyone tried welding and milling?.

Bob,

Not sure if these are applicable for your particular bike, but are you aware Ian Gowanloch has been selling a few in the last few months? One here for example..

If they are suitable, for $40 odd dollars Aussie plus postage, be worth an email to Ian. I have a similar issue with my 68 M3D and have just done so!
